If you want to keep your Dell DisplayLink device in good condition or prevent any driver issues, you should keep your driver up to date.
To update your DisplayLink device driver
The following are two methods to update your Dell DisplayLink device driver.
Displaylink Driver For Mac
DisplayLink provides this support portal to try and answer common questions you might have about DisplayLink technology. However we cannot provide product specific support. DisplayLink is a chip and technology company and we do not sell any products directly to end users, therefore do not have a dedicated end user support team.
Method 1: Download your device driver from Dell
- DisplayLink Manager Graphics Connectivity for macOS 10.15 Catalina (R:1.1) – August 2020 Driver Name USB Graphics Software for macOS 10.14 Mojave (v.5.2.5) – August 2020.
- Driver and Software Downloads. Find and download drivers, software, and user guides for Targus products including docking stations, USB hubs, video adapters, and tablet cases. For Technical News and Updates: Vist our Tech Talk Blog. For Assistance: Visit our Support Page. Note: For the best experience access this page from a desktop or laptop.
- Windows Driver Downloads. Here you can download drivers for DisplayLink® USB graphics chipsets incorporated in your dock, adapter or monitor. We recommend to update to the latest driver to address any potential security issue, fix bugs, improve performance and add new features.
You can download your monitor driver from Dell and then manually install it. To do so:
1) Go to the official Dell website, then search your product.
2) Download the correct and latest driver for your DisplayLink device.
3) Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your computer.

Method 2: Update your device driver automatically
If you don’t have the time, patience or skills to update your DisplayLink device driver manually, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy.
Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing.
You can download and install your drivers by using either Free or Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes only 2 clicks (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):
1) Download and install Driver Easy.
2) Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.
3) Click the Update button next to your DisplayLink device to download the latest and correct driver for it, then you can manually install it. You can also click the Update All button at the bottom right to automatically update all outdated or missing drivers on your computer (this requires the Pro version — you will be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).
